Born in Hartwell, he was a son of the late John and Ida Daniel Shiflett and a retired automobile dealer. He was twice married, first to the late Lizzie H Shiflett.

Shifflett owned and operated Charlottesville Floor Sanding, Inc. He also did property management under Lincoln Corp. He is survived by three sisters, Susan S. Spiller of Tampa, Fla. Shifflett and his wife, Virginia, of Silver Spring, Md. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.
