Fun to listen to organ music. No movie previews or ads which was different. I can't help but wish the walls of that building could talk. Glad you had a wonderful time at the Avalon Theatre, Carol. In addition to the one-of-a-kind, highly ornate maritime murals on the walls of the theater, the vacation town crowd that generally comes to the movies here has a friendly, festive vibe. This enhances the viewing experience, whatever film happens to be showing. When I got to Catalina I was really excited about all that the island had to offer. Its off season so I was really looking forward to spending a late night out at the casino. Only one movie shows so you have no choice, but we wanted to see the This amazing theater is located in the Casino of Catalina Island. We had a tour in the casino, and had a chance to watch an informative documentary film about the Casino's history in this beautiful theater.
